Knarik Mkrtchyan, Co-founder

Knarik Mkrtchyan is a dedicated advocate for women’s rights and feminist peace, actively working in this field since 2009. Beginning in 2012, she has been deeply engaged with the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, both academically and professionally. Knarik has made significant contributions to the development and monitoring of UNSCR 1325 and related frameworks in Armenia. She has authored and co-authored monitoring reports on UNSCR 1325, various research studies that document the progress of the WPS agenda, researches exploring the situation of conflict affected women. She has also authored guidebooks and manuals on WPS agenda.

Knarik earned a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the European Studies Center and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She is a certified trainer in the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, as well as Human Rights. Currently, she also works as a local consultant for several regional initiatives aimed at promoting women-led peace and security.
